825 N St. Mary’s is a three-story, five-unit design response located in downtown San Antonio’s urban environment. Each unit is a concrete mass that is shifted 45 degrees to maximize views without compromising privacy.
Each floor plate is also unique as a means to maximize living comfort. Trees are strategically placed in front of the units to minimize sun exposure and to add more privacy in a compact, busy street. The pitch of the roof of each unit is designed to allow for drainage and to create vibrant shade and shadow.
My goal for this project was to efficiently and aesthetically design San Antonio’s urban environment by maximizing the amount of livable space and creating a form that is appealing in the area
